About us

Hi, I (Mikaela) am so happy you are here!

Brix Ceramics was born from summers spent in Österlen, Sweden, where my mom and I would wander through independent ceramic studios, watching local artists and soaking in their creativity. For one of my birthdays, she signed me up for a pottery class, and that’s where I discovered the joy of working with clay but also working with your hands - the endless possibilities, but also by the way it makes you slow down, stay humble and to never stop learning. Clay is alive, sometimes it follows your lead, and sometimes it has its own mind.

My Swedish heritage is always at the heart of the process: timeless design, natural materials, and the beauty of simplicity - shaped into ceramics for everyday life or for your special hosting moments with loved ones. Today, I craft each piece by hand in Antwerp, where I have made my new home.

The name, Brix Ceramics, was inspired by my grandparents last name: Brixland. Even though my loved ones are not with me anymore, I thought this would be a great way of honouring the ones who have left us and their heritage.

I hope you will enjoy every piece you receive from me, as I pour all of my time, love and effort into them. Thank you for supporting!
